Knoll : Florence Knoll Material Expansion | Sam Chermayeff Storage Collection

For the update of the Florence Knoll storage collection and the introduction of Sam Chermayeff’s new storage system, I developed a shared color andmaterial palette that creates a dialogue between the two collections.The palette focuses on rich, harmonious pairings of marble with veneer and lacquer, using the natural variation and depth of stone alongside saturatedcolor and expressive wood grain. The combinations bring depth and richness to the furniture while allowing the particular qualities of each material toremain present.The work extends the material language of Knoll storage across historic and contemporary designs, creating a palette that feels connected withoutrequiring the collections to look the same.
